Congratulations, If you are receiving this e-mail then your team has either been awarded an automatic bid or is playing a game this week for the chance to receive a bid to the 2007 UPA HS State Championships in ToughKenamon, PA on May 12-13, 2007. As you probably know, there are forms to complete, fees to pay, and deadlines to meet. It's a little work, but it's all necessary to make sure we can provide a fun and safe experience, and we're sure it will be worth the effort on your part. All the information you need will be rolled out to you over the next few days via e-mail, and eventually posted on our website: www.upa-pa-states.org. Note: $25 of this is a security deposit that will be returned contingent on your team following certain rules (detailed later. i.e. playing all games, not trashing the fields, etc.) 2.) Lebanon - PHUL North Hills - PHUL Penn Hills - PHUL Pennsbury - PHUEL Pine-Richland - PHUL St. Joseph's prep - PHUEL Taylor Allderdice - PHUL ------------ Cheltenham vs. CB East- PHUEL Great Valley High vs. O'hara - PHUEL Neshaminy vs. Lower Merion - PHUEL The number of bids were determined based on size (number of active teams) of the respective leagues. A team was considered active if they had played 3 unique opponents by April 22nd. PHUL received 8 bids (21 teams), PHUEL 7 (18 teams) and CPHUL 1 (5 teams). If you see an error in the spelling of your team name please let me know ASAP. 3.) UPA Registration and Rostering Note, if you are a PHUL team and you have turned in all your forms for PHUL you are fully registered for States with the exception of the online roster (We'll be attempting to do that automatically for teams this weekend, please check with me after). and a chaperone form. All players must be registered with the UPA to play in the State Tournament. To become a UPA member costs $20 for Youth players. To *register* your players online please go to www.upa.org and click on "join" on the left side of the page. Or go to: http://www.upa.org/membership You must also sign a waiver: http://www.upa.org/files/2007Waiver.pdf and fill out a medical form http://www.upa.org/files/Medical_Authorization_Form.pdf each team must also have at least one adult Chaperone over the age of 18 who has graduated from high school, and this form: http://www.upa.org/files/Chaperone_Form.pdf The waivers need to be sent to the UPA - the medical forms and chaperone waiver need to be presented to me at the fields the morning of play. If you are unsure of what forms you need please ask me and I can e-mail you the files. 4.) UPA Rostering All teams must create a roster. You can do this online between now and April 30th. After April 30th you will incur a $50 late fee. Do it now, online. Check www.upa-pa-states.org for registration/rostering instructions.
